If you’re like me and have trouble finding gifts for people, then this post will hopefully be your saving grace! Mother’s Day is that special day when you get to celebrate the woman who gave you life. Or maybe it’s the person who treats you like you’re their own. However they might be related to you it’s a time when you can try your hardest to get her good and boozed up. Maybe then she’ll finally share all of the family secrets! Here are my top ten boozy Mother’s Day gifts.
Craft Cocktail Kit
Craft cocktail kits have been on my go to gift list for a while. They’re a great start to help you create delicious, bar-quality drinks in the comfort of your own home! These kits often contain most of the ingredients and tools you need to shake, stir, and sip your way to cocktail perfection. Some great cocktail kit websites include American Cocktail Club and Shaker and Spoon.
There are quite a few different types of cocktail kits and can range from simple mason jars with ingredients to infuse a spirit of your choice to the whole shebang, with garnishes, spirits and specialty ingredients included.
What’s Included
Garnishes
Some kits include dehydrated fruit, herbs, or other garnishes to elevate your drink’s presentation.
Premium Spirits
Often, the kit will include smaller, high-quality bottles of the base spirit(s) required for the featured cocktail. This could be any of the following vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, or tequila. I’m sure other kits might have different spirits, but most that I found include those mentioned.
Specialty Ingredients
This is where the “craft” comes in! You’ll often find unique syrups. like rosemary, ginger, or lavender. Bitters which add complexity and depth. Possibly even infused sugars!
Mixers
Some kits include high-quality mixers like artisanal tonics, ginger beer, or natural fruit juices.
Tools
Depending on the kit, you might find essential bar tools like a jigger (for measuring), a shaker, a strainer, a muddler, or even a bar spoon.
Recipe Card
A detailed recipe card with step-by-step instructions, tips, and sometimes even the history of the cocktail.
Personalized Barware
For those of you who are better at planning ahead than I am, personalized barware is a great option. A few simple searches on Etsy or Uncommongoods and there are a plethora of options at your fingertips. Whether your mom is a wine or whiskey drinker there’s something for everyone.
A favorite from Uncommongoods are these customizable tequila rocks glasses. I like that they’re a little more detailed than a lot of the really basic customizable glasses you can find on other websites. The artwork on the glasses make them a fun gift for your favorite tequila drinker.

If you have a wine drinker on your hands, check out the hundreds of options I found just by searching “personalized wine glasses” on Etsy. I find the shop that can etch a picture on the glass to have the most potential. Terrible picture of your mom? Goofy picture of the two of you? Family portrait? I say go for it!
Alcohol-Infused Candies
While I am not a mom, I’m definitely a person who loves candy. Give me some champagne truffles and I’m in heaven! There are so many options out there that it might be hard to choose just the right one. Sugarfina has a great selection of fun “cocktail” candies. Everything from champagne gummies to a tequila candy box set, there seems to be something for everyone. At the time of writing this post, quite a few of these sweet boozy Mother’s Day gifts are on sale.

Another candy company I thought looked delicious though I have yet to try is Vosges Haut Chocolat. Their Dalmore Scotch-Infused Chocolate Collection isn’t going to have an overwhelming scotch flavor. But a hint of maltiness will have any whisky loving mother out there happy with the pairing.
Mixology Class (Virtual or In-Person)
A while back I wrote about Airbnb Experiences and now’s a great opportunity to check them out. Something you could do together or if she’s always wanted to learn to shake up cocktails like a pro, booking a class could be the perfect gift.
MasterClass offers a cocktail course that can be done on your own time! The course description states: “They will teach you the essentials of cocktail making, from developing your palate to building your home bar. Learn how to mix a perfectly balanced drink for every occasion and mood—and become your friends’ new favorite bartender.” Sounds like fun to me!

Local bars in your area might also offer mixology classes. Check out your town to see if any are offered.
MOMosa Gift Set
This one might be one of the easiest and and can look pretty in a gift basket! Grab a bottle of prosecco and a few different juices and throw them in a basket with a bow. Voilà! The perfect addition to Mother’s Day brunch that everyone can enjoy!

Bottle + Custom Label
If you want to gift her a spirit with a little something special added to it, check out these options for customizing bottles. William Sonoma offers a variety of wines and sizes to fit anyone you might be buying for. Personalize the bottle and then there are options of a wooden box or crate for finishing the gift.
You can also check with local distilleries or breweries. Ko’olau Distillery on O’ahu offers personalized etching on their liquor bottles. There are also etching companies that will etch a specific bottle for you. A quick google search found quite a few options to choose from.
Still Can’t Decide?
If none of these gifts are quite right, here are a few other options that could be fun for the mom in your life!
Cocktail Recipe Book
Cocktail Botanica by Elouise Anders for the flower lover. A beautiful book with botanical twists on classic cocktails. Or go with Regarding Cocktails, a book that I think every cocktail lover should have on their shelves.
Flavored Bitters or Syrup Set
You can find a number of options for flavored cocktail bitters online, but this small batch bitters sample set from Crude: Small Batch Bitters and Sodas looks the most fun and out of the ordinary.
Syrups can enhance any drink whether it’s a cocktail, mocktail or even your morning coffee. Portland Syrups has a wide range of syrups that come in flavors such as Hibiscus-Cardamom and Lavender. Choose just one or customize a little flavor pack of three to six bottles. Bonus! Recipes are included on their website to help you with how to best utilize their flavors!
Subscription Box for Cocktails or Wine
Mentioned before American Cocktail Club and Shaker and Spoon offer subscriptions for their cocktail kits. Fireleaf is one of the top recommended wine subscription box and has a few different subscription options at varying costs from $90-$150 for a box with six bottles. If you’re anything like my landlord though, you have someone in your life who loves a good boxed wine. Check out Really Good Boxed Wine to order some……really good boxed wines!
Whatever you decide to get her, she’s sure to love!
