Mai Tai Cocktail

The Mai Tai celebrates 80 years in 2024. This sweet drink will take you on a tropical adventure that is destined to leave you wanting to pack your bags and jump on an airplane for an island adventure.
- 1½ oz White Rum
- ½ oz Dark Rum
- ½ oz Orange Curaçao or triple sec
- ½ oz Orgeat Syrup almond syrup
- ¼ oz Simple Syrup optional for sweetness
- Lime Wedge for garnish
- Pineapple wedge and Cherry for garnish
Fill a shaker with ice and add the white rum, orange curaçao, orgeat syrup, simple syrup (if using), and fresh lime juice.
Shake vigorously until well chilled
Fill a rocks glass or tiki mug with crushed ice or ice cubes.
Strain the mixture over the ice in your glass.
Carefully float the dark rum on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon so it rests on the surface of the drink.
Garnish as desired.
Orgeat Syrup: This almond-based syrup is crucial for the authentic Mai Tai flavor. It’s sweet with a distinct nutty character.
